The Indiana Institute on Recycling, a state agency, was created in 1989 by the General Assembly and is responsible for developing concepts, methods, and procedures for assisting the state in efforts to reduce and recycle solid waste. The Institute offers a subscription service which includes the "Indiana Recycler", a monthly newsletter reporting how communities around the state are developing and improving methods to collect, process, and market recyclable materials. Another publication available to subscribers is the "Tech-Scanner", a summary of the main ideas of articles from recycling and waste management journals. Full text of the articles is available upon request. Yearly subscriptions are available at individual rates of $35 which includes the two monthly publications. Organizational membership at $100 per year includes the two monthly publication- and all other publications of the Institute, including the annual cost report for all Indiana cities and towns. Also, next summer we expect to publish the first volume of case studies in waste prevention by Indiana companies, and this also will be sent at no additional cost. Yearly Membership $35.00/$100.00
