Since 1919, Fort Garry Industries has evolved from a modest tire repair shop to its present position as a leading supplier of truck and trailer parts and equipment to the transportation industry, as well as fire trucks and rubber products to customers across Western Canada. Fort Garry Industries is headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Parts warehousing, sales and service work are performed at this and eight other Canadian centres including Mississauga, Thunder Bay, Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, Lloydminster, Edmonton, and Vancouver. Fort Garry Industries now consists of three operating divisions including an aftermarket parts and service division, an original equipment division, and a manufacturing division. Fort Garry Industries also has a sister company which rebuilds brakes and other components. Of the company's compliment of 325 employees, 170 work in the Winnipeg branch which contains the company's corporate offices, an aftermarket sales showroom, drive-through service bays, equipment sales office, as well as the fire equipment and rubber manufacturing operations. The remanufacturing operations are located in a separate facility just southwest of the city. In today's fierce global supply market, Fort Garry Industries remains a major player in the new and used trailers and equipment market. It markets van trailers, flat decks, grain bulkers and gravel trailers among others. FGI is set apart from its competitors by holding exclusive Western Canadian rights to a number of most trusted names in the industry such as Doepker Trailers, Midland Manufacturing, Hyundai Precision America Inc, and Talbert Trailers. The Truck Equipment division is also a well-known truck-mounted house that sells, installs and services everything from concrete mixers, gravel boxes and sand spreaders, to snow plows, wood chippers, hydraulic hoists and lifts.
