I'm finally selling my beloved Yamaha Motif 8 to enter the world of analog synths and laptop recording. The Motif, purchased new in 2003, is Yamaha's best synth, sampler, sequencer and drum machine in one comprehensive package. It offers the ability to compose detailed, multi-tracked songs at home and play those compositions live on stage the same night. Its 88 weighted keys maintain the feel of a traditional piano, but with limitless realistic sounds that can be easily edited on the fly. I cannot say enough good things about this keyboard, as it helped me transform from a piano player to a full-fledged musician and composer. Considering how many different functions the Motif offers, the interface can be somewhat intimidating at first. To save you a few frustrating weeks (or months) of flipping through the manual, I'll gladly spend a couple hours with the buyer and walk you through each of the modes, ensuring that you'll be making songs the moment you take it out of the case.
