Revoutionary Waste Compaction System Reduces Cost and Emissions.
With the cost of residential waste hauling continuing to rise, cities and municipalities can offer residents the option of disposing of their trash at a local site. There is a process that would reduce costs, emissions, wear-and-tear on surface streets and overhead for haulers.
There are also opportunities for haulers to maximize their profits.
Roll-Pack technology is the only compaction system that will compact waste in open bins (20-50 cu yd). The Mammoth has shown to have a compaction ratio of 4-1 to 10-1 depending on the type of waste. This means that 4 to 10 times as much waste can be placed in each bin, allowing the bins to be picked up 10% to 25% of the usual rate.
There are advantages of compacting open-top roll-off bins as opposed to conventional compactors. With conventional compaction machines, the same ''box'' needs to be brought back to the original site after being emptied at the landfill. Open-top roll-off bins are interchangeable and exchanged at time of pick up. There is no need to make a return trip to the original location, thus reducing trips by 50%. Also, much more waste can be compacted into an open-top bin than a conventional compactor.
There is an opportunity for cities to reduce costs, truck emissions as well as wear-and-tear on surface streets by giving residents the option of disposing of their household waste at a central location.
There is an opportunity for haulers who bill by the ton. There are customers that are a long distance away, but still need to be serviced and probably have bins picked up that only have 2-3 tons of debris. If haulers are charging by the ton, they are not hauling enough waste to maximize their trips. With the high cost of fuel, it could be cost effective for a hauling company to lease/purchase a Mammoth and install at a customer's site (at no cost to customer) to decrease the hauler's # of trips per month by 75-80%. If a hauler is picking up daily, they could schedule weekly pickups and save based on the reduction of trips. A ''Shared Savings Program'' can be implemented where the hauler can offer to give the customer a 10% discount on their current bill. Besides for the savings the customer would experience less wear and tear on their parking surface due to the decrease in visits by the hauler.
